To those who have not been there, going to Caramoan is no less than walking in the dark and getting there as in – How,Who,What,Where, Do's and Don’ts are just among the few things that incite us in creating this site EyeOnCaramoan. And guess what? You're now just a few steps to getting there...
BY PLANE - Take a flight going to NAGA CITY. Then, ride a VAN going to Barangay SABANG, SAN JOSE. Take a BOAT to CARAMOAN and you're on your way.
VIA LEGASPI CITY AIRPORT, same thing, same directions. Take a van going to Naga, then to Sabang, San Jose. This can be two or more rides before getting to Sabang.
Via VIRAC AIRPORT - from the airport, take a jeep or tricycle rides to Calolbon, then an hour boat ride to Caramoan.
BY LAND - Almost any available land vehicle is possible. By BUS, from Manila, you can go to Cubao Bus Terminal ( by Ali Mall) and find one bound for Naga City or directly to Sabang, San Jose. Aside from the norm aircon, there’s also couple of comfortable bus seats available. The 3 row seater is good and if budget is not a concern, I recommend the best - LAZYBOY COACH. The ideal departure time in Manila-Naga is in the evening and travel time is around 7 to 8 hrs. which can be shorten by a good coach sleep or by listening to your mp3 music. FROM NAGA - go to VAN terminal and board on SABANG, SAN JOSE ROUTE.
TRAVELLING BY PRIVATE VEHICLE - well, just fill a full tank of gas then follow the road to NAGA/BICOL, then Sabang, San Jose. When you get there, which is end of the road, just ask the local portsmen for the time schedule to Caramoan.
DEPENDING ON THE SEASON, you could travel on the highway through rough roads. Some folks called it - the WARA-WARA HIGHWAY. Most of the time it is not drivable making the boatrides the best and only option to Caramoan.
The place is not developed yet and many areas are not even commercialized. Traveling to Caramoan may also out of your comfort zone so please be prepared to expect the unexpected. Make advance reservation and before you go, please make sure to CHECK IF CARAMOAN IS 4U.. in our Caramoan link websites.
Also, please feel free to SHARE YOUR COMMENTS to the locals and or Tourism Office whenever possible. This way, you and I are helping Caramoan a better place - to be.
There are a couple of small hostels in town, like VILLA JULIANA INN, LA CASA ROA, LEGACY INN, REX INN and some other PRIVATE HOUSES that open its doors for Caramoan visitors. VISTA DEL MAR GUEST HOUSE is just among them. We believe that by opening the doors to visitors of Caramoan demonstrates the "small town's genuine hospitality" to outsiders. And if Caramoanons had only ENOUGH ROOMS to accommodate the travelers, chances of preserving the natural beauty of the Peninsula, against modern development and exploitation could be minimized. This will be very beneficial to the locals themselves and doing so would help motivate the locals and visitors alike who love and appreciate the natural wonders of Mother Earth.
For BACKPACKERS - visit LA PLAYA CAMP & PICNIC GROUNDS located in Barangay Paniman. Where you can have a picnic or rent camp gears and camp overnight just a few steps away from the ocean.
IF BUDGET is not a CONCERN, CAVANAS in GOTA VILLAGES are also avialable.
